1 Year

Since we got married on a Friday, it was nice that our first anniversary ended up on a Saturday. We spent the whole day together and it was perfect. I woke up to a beautiful breakfast in bed.

David makes breakfast and sandwiches, so his breakfast sandwiches are like perfection. And who doesn't like toaster strudels?

After we ate a delicious breakfast, we exchanged presents.

David opened up a Garmin watch so he could track his running distances. I always thought that GPS watches were kind of nerdy...but I guess he and Phil Dunphy are like the same person so that's saying something.

I personally think that my present was way better.

I got some twin pink pearls the summer I went to Hawaii and never did anything with them. I've always said I wanted to put one on a ring and the other on a necklace, but I never expected David to actually do it! So far David's given me three pieces of jewelry, and has nailed every single one.
Way to go David!

After breakfast, we headed up to the Rexburg Temple to do some sealings. We thought it would make a good anniversary tradition.

The rest of the day was spend just hanging around until dinner time.
Because the nicest restaurant in Idaho Falls is Olive Garden, that's where we went for dinner.
Because the nicest restaurant in Idaho Falls is Olive Garden, we waited for 45 minutes.
Because the nicest restaurant in Idaho Falls is Olive Garden, we ran into my religion teacher.
Awkward.

Afterwards we headed around the block to Applebee's for some free dessert. Well worth it.

Happy One Year Anniversary!

Congratulations David!

David's top three podiatry school choices were

Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ
Sam Merritt University in Oakland, CA
Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA

He applied to 2 others as "safety schools" even though he didn't need them at all. In fact Midwestern and Sam Merritt offered him interviews even before his MCAT score was posted.

Seeing as Midwestern has some of the best board pass rates, residency placements, GPA's and MCAT scores, depending on who you talk to, it is possibly the best Podiatry School in the country.

Congratulations David! I am so very very proud of you!
